Maximus Corporation is a South African, family-owned investment holding company. We have chosen to make South Africa better in our own way — by combining human ingenuity and ambition in the form of professionally run businesses.
We co-own and (sometimes) manage consumer-facing businesses that have a meaningful edge: either a license, a strong brand, or real scale.
We've built a culture that attracts young, talented, and ambitious business leaders. They can tap into Maximus's wider experience, network, and skills to grow their companies — and because our culture calls for them to have significant skin in the game, they share directly in the upside.
This model lets us grow our existing businesses. We can also acquire or turn around good businesses that are underperforming or find themselves with the wrong shareholders. We do this mostly for ourselves and occasionally invite selected equity partners to join us.
Our success rests on four pillars: A distinct Culture, Disciplined capital allocation, Partnership-based management model, and the Financial resources to back it all.

We’ve worked together for over 20 years, understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and our skills complement one another perfectly. We are fortunate to be supported by a tight-knit group of long-standing specialists at Maximus HQ. Ultimately, our philosophy is simple: we only invest in people who share our values and with whom we can build a genuine partnership.
We have proven to be good partners to ambitious owner-operators of great companies, and we intend to improve on that quality over time.

Goldrush is South Africa’s largest independent alternative gaming operator. Their edge is the ability to bring gaming closer to their customers, in the form of convenient, customised, accessible, and smaller gaming environments.
Goldrush entertains its customers primarily under the Goldrush brand (Bingo, Limited Payout Machines, and Online Betting). In some areas, the group operates the Bingo Royale (Eastern Cape, Bingo), Crazy Slots (Gauteng, Limited Payout Machines), Betnova (North West, Retail Sports Betting), and G-bets (Gauteng, Retail Sports Betting and Online Betting) brands.
From 1 June 2026, the group will also serve South Africans under the Sizekhaya brand as the operator of the country’s national lottery.
OIH is Africa's premier vertically integrated wholesale distributor and retailer serving the outdoor industry. Their flagship retail Operation is Safari Outdoor, the leading large-format outdoor sporting goods retailers in Africa.
The retail division is complemented by Safari Collection, a retail chain that offers premium safari wear and outdoor apparel from world-class brands, and Wildman, outdoor retail chain serving regional and rural markets.
Our two independent wholesalers, Formalito and Stonewolf, import and distribute respected outdoor and hunting-related brands. They have a combined 60 years of trading history in South Africa.
Leatt is the leading designer, developer, marketer, and distributor of innovative personal protective and performance equipment for participants in all forms of motor sports and leisure activities, including riders of motorcycles, bicycles, snowmobiles and ATVs.
Our products are sold in over 58 Countries in the world.
Flexi Mobility provides seamless, reliable, and market-leading solutions within the vehicle industry. We cover all aspects of the automotive and rental sectors.
Our operations span key areas such as floor finance for used car dealers, long term subscription for consumers, insurance, asset valuations, risk management, finance, and capital markets.

Hero MotoCorp is South Africa’s leading two-wheeler company. It is the sole distributor of Hero motorcycles in South Africa and Southern Africa. Its main customer base is the burgeoning delivery fleet that is growing rapidly with expanded online sales in the country.
The second area of focus is the nascent personal mobility market in South Africa. The affordable, reliable and durable Hero bikes provide freedom of movement and therefore a substantial improvement in quality of life for many of the poorest South Africans. Hero bikes are not called the “Toyota® of motorbikes” for nothing.
